Are you finding it hard to keep up your exercise routine? Even though you probably have more free time now than ever to actually fit it in your day?
Want to know the SECRET?
This is the one thing I can say I have personally figured out for myself BUT it was quite the process.
For me, the journey to getting an exercise routine took a really long time.
Until the age of forty, around March or April, I would start to feel crappy and my pants would be tight.
I would realize Crap the Summer is around the corner!
Then I would start the “exercise” program. For me consisted of doing youtube videos with the keyword CORE in them. Doesn’t everyone want a six-pack?
I would try to exercise 3-4 days a week AND I would also do a series of “diets” depending on my mood.
My go to diets included the cabbage soup diet, the grapefruit diet, followed the 80/20 diet, this Hollywood 24 Hour Miracle Diet w/ Acai and Garcinia Cambogia, Elemis Enhancement Program 3 months detoxification plan, and many others.
It would change the bad eating habits that I slowly added back in. I would eat healthily and exercise through about October.
Then by November, I’d start to get lazy and slack off a little.
By December I’d be done and still looking pretty good because I’m not a huge Thanksgiving eater but Christmas and the Rainbow Cookies are another story!
Then by January and February, I was not really exercising at all.
So the reason I’m telling you this story is because on my Fortyith Birthday something changed.
I DECIDED (that is the first step) that I would exercise at least 10-15 minutes on the days I was off.
In my head, that would be better than nothing at all. I used to work in NYC four days a week so Friday through Sunday were my days to get in shape.
The journey began by googling 10-15 minute CORE Youtube videos.
Yes, that’s a thing and it DOES exist!
I would not take a shower or get dressed on those days until I exercised. That was the deal I made with myself.
Needless to say, there were many days I didn’t shower till 1-2 pm. That was just sad and not very inspiring.

It took five years literally but here is the thing fast forward to today at forty-five. I now exercise EVERY single day for a combined total of 1/2 hour.
On a cruise a few years ago I learned a few valuable things:
-
Your biggest meal should be in the morning and the smallest at night. You should eat like a King in the morning, a Prince in the afternoon and a Poorper at night.
-
Try not to eat past 6:30 pm.
-
Most of the time you are not hungry but dehydrated so drink water.
-
How much you exercise means NOTHING if you eat like crap. It’s 80 percent what you eat and only 20 percent exercise.
-
I cut out ALL sweets not that I ate a lot but now I eat NONE except at Xmas time when I eat those Rainbow Cookies from my cousin Cara. Figures I LOVE those with my whole Unicorns and Rainbows obsession.
-
Those granola bars that you can’t read the ingredients are not as good as just eating a piece of fruit.
As for the workout routine, I landed on youtube videos from Boho Beautiful which are FREE!
I am currently doing the 7 Day Challenge below.
The videos are Super Intense (no breaks) so a short amount of time consistently is all I need.
I usually am on the mat by 5 am although the past couple of days my schedule has been off.
If I exercise first in the morning it helps me start my day with Positive Vibes.
I also meditate and journal all of which really helps calm my mind and set me up for a good day. The whole meditation takes a minute to get into if you are just starting out so go easy on yourself. It WILL take time to quiet your mind BUT if you get into it ideas just start flowing to you which is awesome!
